Lang Ranch Community Park
The community is divided when it comes to the proposed 52 acre park near the corner of Westlake Blvd. and Avenida de Los Arboles. Some residents fear it will cause major conjestion while others welcome the recreational facilities such as baseball fields, community center and lighted sports courts.
We wanted to know what your thoughts are. Are you for or against the park?

I am all for a community park as I have 2 young boys, but disagree with CRPDs decision to only put up ballfields and loud PA systems and 38 blaring light poles and nothing else, unless alot more money comes their way. There's a good chance they won't get more funds. I heartily agree with Steve McComas' letter to the editor of the 2/7/08 edition of the Thousand Oaks Acorn. It is imperative for all residents to read his letter, which is all factual. We need to make sure the residents are aware that they will not be putting in a park that ALL can enjoy...and that it will create nothing but traffic and traffic related accidents or deaths due to the parking situation. I don't understand why the Little League has to be now based in this proposed park. Why can't they stay using the facilities they have been using all these years?

I am definitely in favor of the park with Little League diamonds. It would be a great addition to the community. However, I am not in favor of any lights for the ball fields and certainly not in favor of a public address system.
